Esmeralda Samaniego

Esmeralda Samaniego has dedicated 22 years to federal law enforcement, proudly serving on the front lines to protect the nation’s borders, enforce laws, and prevent threats. Her role demanded vigilance, service to country, and unwavering integrity.

Now serving as a Program Manager in the Chicago Field Office, she oversees initiatives that support officer well-being and strengthen community engagement. She also serves as the Chicago Field Office Honor Guard Commander, a National Recruiter, a Chaplain on the Resiliency Team, and Head Advisor of the Explorer Program—mentoring the next generation of law enforcement leaders.

A proud Latina raised in a faith-based home, she honors the sacrifices of her parents and siblings by breaking barriers and striving to shine in everything she does. Whether in uniform or on any day, she carries their strength with her—always going above and beyond to make them proud.

Known as “Wonder Woman” for her extraordinary multitasking, she has balanced a demanding federal law enforcement career, serves as a caregiver to both parents with the help of her siblings, competed professionally in bodybuilding for eight years, completed five marathons to date, and danced on major bachata and salsa stages.

She is the recipient of prestigious awards, including Advisor of the Year, Federal Employee of the Year, Federal Executive Board Outstanding Law Enforcement Team Award, Federal Executive Board Citizens Services Team Award, and the Annual Commissioner’s Award. Yet her greatest accomplishment remains the legacy she continues to build through service and mentorship.
