Lissette Rivero

Lissette Rivero is a retired Police Officer, having served for 25 years with the Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department. Lissette served in multiple units during her tenure. She began her career as a correctional officer in 1994 and later became a corrections training academy instructor before she was promoted to the Police Department in 2002. She served four years in patrol.

From 2006 to 2015, she was assigned to the Special Operations Unit where she worked as an undercover investigator conducting various criminal investigations involving prostitution, trademark violations, human trafficking, organized crime, theft, and fraud. Many of these cases were in collaboration with other municipalities including other local police departments, FBI, Secret Service, Homeland Security, Food and Drug Administration, and United States Department of Agriculture.

She became a Task Force Officer with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 2015 conducting investigations on Cyber Crime and Internet scams. In 2017, Lissette continued her career with the Cook County Sheriff’s Office of Professional Review where she conducted investigations involving complaints against Sheriff’s sworn personnel involved in criminal activity. Her collateral duties involved extraditing female detainees from other states and was a member of the Hostage Barricade Team.

Lissette is now a full-time real estate agent specializing in working with First Responders. Lissette is an active member and recording secretary on the Executive Board of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Lodge 4.

She is the wife of a retired firefighter Lieutenant and the mother of two adult children, one of which is a Chicago Police Officer.
