Lourdes Navarro

Lourdes Navarro is a first-generation, bilingual, Mexican American born and raised in the area of Little Village, in Chicago, IL. She grew up in a faith-driven household that valued hard work and perseverance. Inspired by her parents’ love and dedication, she pursued education and athletics, excelling in basketball, track, and cross-country in high school and college. She is an alum of Chicago State University with her B.S. in Political Science. Her passion for running 5K’s to full marathons instilled discipline and mental toughness, shaping her career and future.

After joining the Army Reserves during college, Lourdes found her calling in law enforcement full-time at the age of 27, she was sworn in as a Customs and Border Protection Officer and is stationed at the Port of Chicago. Driven by her core values, she has proudly served to protect the nation for the past 24 years in the United States Army Reserves and the past 17 years as a federal Officer. She has embodied resilience, service, and commitment to safety such as a Military Police, Drill Sergeant, and Observer Controller Trainer. Lourdes is currently serving in a temporary duty assignment at the southwest part of the U.S., as a Customs and Border Protection Officer.

In 2014, Lourdes attended the U.S Drill Sergeant School and was awarded the highest score in the Army Physical Fitness test in her class. She received the “Iron Drill Sergeant Award” prior to her promotion in 2016 to Master Sergeant.
