My Chavez was born and raised in the beautiful city of Chicago. She is the middle child out of seven. Although she initially went to college in the art field, My graduated from Calumet College of St. Joseph with a bachelor’s degree for Public Safety Management. My was 30 years old when she finally got the opportunity to start her law enforcement career. She has been working in law enforcement since June of 2016. She has worked as a patrol officer for most of her career.
My Chavez has encountered many moments of uncertainty and danger within her field but has also witnessed some of the most amazing, resilient people because of her job. This career in law enforcement has been a blessing and she only hopes that she can further expand her knowledge and experiences to make it further into her career.
My has a love for photography and animals, which is a great way to escape and mentally recharge from the stresses of the job. Only time will tell where her career choice will lead, but she hopes that she can still help people and make a bit of a difference—be the light in someone’s darkest moment.
