Officer Nancy Sanchez is a proud first-generation Mexican American police officer serving the City of Chicago, Illinois. With six plus years of dedicated service, she has built a reputation as a committed public servant, passionate recruiter, and advocate for diversity in law enforcement.
Born and raised in Chicago’s Humboldt Park area, Nancy grew up in a loving, entrepreneurial household, instilling in her the values of perseverance, dedication, and self-reliance. As the third oldest of seven sisters, she naturally developed a strong sense of responsibility and leadership early in life.
At a young age, Nancy became a mother believing she had found her prince charming. But those dreams quickly turned to hardship as she endured years of domestic violence at the hands of her husband. Refusing to let fear define her, she broke free from the cycle of abuse. In a bold and empowering decision, she also chose to walk away from the successful restaurant business she had built for the sake of her mental and emotional well-being, recognizing that true success isn’t just about material achievements; it’s about freedom, self-respect, and reclaiming one’s future.
With fierce determination, Nancy earned an Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies from Robert Morris College and went on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Law from Robert Morris University. Emerging strong from a long and painful divorce, she transformed her pain into purpose. With resilience as her foundation, she pursued a career in law enforcement, committed to protecting others and ensuring that no one would ever feel trapped or voiceless in an abusive situation.
